1982 Founding year
On 01.07.1982, the current shareholder-managing director Thomas Meyer founded the company NIRONIT Edelstahlhandel GmbH together with a partner. The aim was to sell sheets, pipes and bar steels in high-quality stainless steel, in particular to dealer customers within the EU. In the course of subsequent years, we also increasingly supplied dealers in third countries and processors domestically.

In the 1990s, the company headquarters were moved to the municipality of Rosengarten on the southern city limits of Hamburg. The focus shifted increasingly to the supply of bar steels, hot-rolled sheets and sheet blanks. We imported a significant portion of our needs from the EU.
2000him years
In 2001, Thomas Meyer took over the company shares from the former partner and has been the sole managing director and shareholder ever since. The legal form changed to a GmbH & Co. KG. In Bremen, we set up an extensive warehouse for hot-rolled stainless steel sheets. In 2007, on the 25th anniversary of NIRONIT, the stainless steel cutting company FERRIT Blechservice GmbH & Co. KG was founded as an independent company based in Bremen.

The addition of an additional hall increased FERRIT's production area to 4,600 m². We rented additional storage space from a freight forwarder. Further investments in machinery followed. The company NIRONIT moved into a new administration building in Rosengarten.

2020
In 2020, FERRIT GmbH & Co. KG was merged with Nironit Edelstahlhandel GmbH & Co. KG to form NIRONIT Edelstahl GmbH & Co. KG. A new management level of employees employed by us for many years is responsible for sales, purchasing, production, marketing, shop and investment planning. In future, we decided to focus on the core competencies of sheets, coils and blanks.
In order to ensure future viability, we provide extensive training in the areas of production, administration and sales. The warehouse space has been drastically increased. As a result, we were able to almost double our inventory volumes in order to become largely independent of supply chain problems and to create enough space for further customer storage. On July 1, 2022, our company celebrated its 40th anniversary.

The modernization of plasma technology and the improvement of energy efficiency in waterjet technology through the installation of energy-saving pumps and water treatment systems have now been completed. Another 4-head waterjet cutting machine, milling machines, a belt grinding system and a straightening system were implemented.
Our online shop was launched to give our customers the opportunity to access 24/7 availability, delivery dates and prices and to place orders. The projects: new laser system, addition of shelving systems, expansion of employee training, significant investments in IT, process optimization and security, new construction of social rooms in production, installation of photovoltaic systems on production hall roofs, etc. were initiated.

How strategic decisions, combined with prudent leadership, the necessary luck and continuous investments, have strengthened the company in the long term and consolidated its position in the market.

1982 - 2000:

  • 1982: Founding of NIRONIT Edelstahlhandel GmbH by Thomas Meyer and a partner in Hamburg.
  • Objective: Distribution of sheets, pipes and bar steels in high-quality stainless steel qualities to dealer customers within the EU.
  • Expansion: Expanding the customer base to include dealers in third countries and processors in Germany.
  • 1990s: Relocation of the company headquarters to Rosengarten near Hamburg. Focus shift to bar steels, hot-rolled sheets and sheet blanks, with a high proportion of imports from the EU.

2000 - 2019

  • 2001: Thomas Meyer becomes sole managing director and shareholder. Change of legal form to a GmbH & Co. KG.
  • Warehouse set-up in Bremen: Establishment of a comprehensive warehouse for hot-rolled stainless steel sheets.
  • 01.07.2007: NIRONIT is celebrating its 25th anniversary. Founding of FERRIT Blechservice GmbH & Co. KG in Bremen
  • widening the production area of 4,600 m² through the construction of an additional hall. Renting additional storage space.
  • New administration building: NIRONIT moves to a new administration building in Rosengarten.

2020 - 2023

  • Merger: Merger of FERRIT GmbH & Co. KG with NIRONIT Edelstahlhandel GmbH & Co. KG to NIRONIT Edelstahl GmbH & Co. KG. This step streamlined corporate structures and strengthened the market position.
  • New management level: A new management level, consisting of employees with NIRONIT for many years, is taking responsibility for sales, purchasing, production, marketing and investment planning.
  • Focus on core competencies: Focus on sheets, coils and blanks.
  • Expansion of storage space: Doubling inventory volumes by drastically increasing warehouse space to ensure independence from supply chain problems and create additional space for customer storage.
  • 40th anniversary: On July 1, 2022, the company celebrated its 40th anniversary.
  • Technological modernizations: Renewal of plasma technology, start-up of a straightening system and other grinding machines. Improving energy efficiency in waterjet technology by installing new pumps and water treatment systems. Purchase of another 4-head waterjet cutting machine.
  • Introduction of an online shop: Launch of an online shop that gives customers 24/7 access to availability, delivery dates and prices.

2024

  • Expansion of production: Implementation of the latest cutting technology by commissioning a 24 kW TRUMPF laser with its own nitrogen generation system.
  • Reorganization of management: Alexander Ruf and Lukas Könecke are appointed as partners and additional managing directors. Alexander Ruf takes over the Bremen location and production, while Lukas Könecke manages sales and purchasing. This decision is the result of long-term planning, in which both have impressively demonstrated their leadership qualities.
  • The future of personnel: All four graduates of this year's exam year have been taken on, two of them are starting their studies while working at the company's expense.

Securing the future through increased training in the areas of sales, organization and manufacturing, as well as reimbursement of costs for part-time studies.

As a result of the significant expansion of storage space, inventory volumes were almost doubled, short-term availabilities were optimized and additional space was gained for special storage for customers.

Replacing a waterjet cutter with another 4-head system. This and the other machines were equipped with energy-efficient pumps and water recovery technology.

Social commitment
